Jules completed the last item on the preliminary list of requirements in order to be considered for transplant surgery. There were all sorts of medical tests that had to be completed before the transplant team would even do a detailed review so that she could be placed on the approved for transplant list.

Jules had surgery to place a fistula for use in getting hemodialysis. She had been getting dialysis through a catheter surgically placed when she first started dialysis last fall on an emergency basis. Once the fistula matures, she ought to be able to have the catheter removed.
